About Chicago Chapter - ITMS

The number and variety of programs carried out by various ITMS local and regional Chapters reflect the impact that Thomas Merton has on people of all ages, creeds, economic status, and geographic location.  The Chicago Chapter, which was officially recognized on July 1, 1992, is among 36 chapters in the U.S. that share in the goals of the ITMS.

Speaker Meetings are generally held from 2 to 4 p.m. on the third Sunday of the month, except during summer, in the Rectory Assembly of Immaculate Conception Parish, 7211 W. Talcott (at Harlem), Chicago.  Ample parking is available in the church lot.

The Merton Study Group meets from 7 to 8 p.m. on the last Monday of the month at the Passionist Monastery, 5700 N. Harlem (at Talcott), Chicago.  Parking is available in the front of the monastery.

Francis Cusack, C.P., serves as moderator of the CC-ITMS and leads the Study Group.  Mike Brennan serves as chapter coordinator and publishes the newsletter.
